On 13 January 2005, Polish workers Adam Crol and his uncle Rsyzard Kraszewski were hacked to death in a boarding house Bedford.
Hugo Barrolho, a Portuguese man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was maimed for life.
Ghanaian immigrant, Gabriel Boakye-Dankwa, who should have been removed from the country in April 2003, lived in the guest house with the above mentioned and 15 others. In court it was said that the atmosphere in the house was generally good humoured but that Boakye-Dankwa irritated other guests with his habit of watching the TV and trying to exclude others from doing so.
Anyway, Rsyzard and Hugo had obviously had enough of the Ghanaian's iconsiderate behaviour by the time they knocked on his door and, according to the killer, said:
"You are a terrorist. The police hate you and are coming to look for you."
To which he replied:
"Terror – I will show you terror", before striking both men repeatedly about the head with a meat cleaver that he had pulled from the waistband of his trousers. As Hugo tried to escape the onslaught he was heard to say:
"Gabriel! What have I done?"
Seeing Adam on the stairs, Boakye-Dankwa left the other two men and chased him into the kitchen where he was cornered and hacked to death.
At this point Boakye-Dankwa returned upstairs to Adam’s uncle and continued the attack. Rsyzard died in Bedford hospital later that night.
After chopping up Rsyzard to his satisfaction, Boakye-Dankwa saw Hugo stagger into the street. After chasing him into the foyer of a local pub he set about him again. Hugo would lay unconscious in Addenbrooke's Hospital for 10 days before he was taken off the critical list. He remained there for six months.
After attacking Hugo this last time, the Africann looney-tune calmly walked back to the boarding house, changed, and went off to buy a bottle of wine to celebrate. On his way back from the store, he stopped behind a police cordon to watch the proceedings and, whilst there, DC Mark Devine noticed blood on his shirt. He was arrested at this point.
Unfortunately for Boakye-Dankwa he did not get to drink his celebratory bottle of wine.
In court, Dr Adrian Brown, a consultant at Rampton Mental Hospital, said that the poor chap was suffering from a psychotic mental illness.
Which is what you might call an understatement.
This is Boakye-Dankwa:

In November 2005, 21-year-old Charlie Green was killed when the car in which he was travelling crashed in the Picadilly area of London.
Six others were seriously injured.
Ivan Mazour had been smoking cannabis and was driving a Mitsubishi Evolution VIII sports car at speeds in excess of 90mph when he smashed into a lamppost, crossed the central reservation and rammed a BMW head-on.
Tom, who was a front seat passeneger in Mazour’s sports car, died at the scene.
Mazour, the son of a Russian billionaire, admitted causing death by dangerous driving just moments before he was due to stand trial and was jailed for 6.5 years.
Mazour's father, Ivan Mazour Snr, is one of those so-called Oligarchs who enriched himself at the expense of the Russian people during Russia’s particularly brutal variation on the privatisation scam.
Up to 25,000 of these mega-rich types have moved from Russia in the last few years to a place where such morally reprehensible behaviour as they displayed in their own land is not just tolerated but encouraged. They are now living alongside the Mazour family in the capital of Tony Blair’s Cool Britannia.
This mass movement westward of so many of the world’s nouveau riche has overseen a dramatic rise in London’s property prices.
It also oversaw the death of an English 21-year-old by the name of Charlie Green.
In December 2006, at the Court of Appeal, Mr Justice Underhill ruled that there were "sufficiently arguable points" for Ivan Mazour to appeal against the length of his sentence.
I think we all know what this means.
In Tony Blair’s Cool Britannia.
This is Charlie:
On 7 January 2006, teenager Thomas Robinson was killed when his moped was hit by a car in Enfield, north London.
Hilmi Uludag, who was seen dangerously overtaking a vehicle before slamming into Thomas, did not hold a full licence, was unfamilar with the car and fled from the scene after the collision.
In court, Uludag claimed he was not speeding or driving dangerously and said that Thomas WAS speeding
However, the jury did not believe him and he was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
Caley Robinson, Thomas’s sister, said:
"It was really hard when he was saying that it was Tom's fault, when you are hearing that and all of the details.
If he had been doing the speed limit Tom would still be here."
On 12 March 2006, two gangland figures were shot dead and two other men were critically injured.
Bobby Spiers and David Totton were p***ed off with one another. Spiers contacted Ian McLeod, the boss of Moss Side's notorious Doddington gang, and took out a £10,000 contract on Totton’s life.
While Spiers was watching Manchester United play Newcastle, McLeod sent two Doddington gang members, Richard Austin and Carlton Alveranga, to kill David Totton.
Convicted gun-runner Connie Howarth, cousin of gangland boss Paul Massey, relayed instructions on her mobile phone to Austin and Alveranga from inside the Brass Handles pub, telling them where Totton was sitting.
In a pub crowded with Sunday afternoon trade, women and children included, the two hitmen began to spray bullets in Totton’s general direction and he was hit. However, another man, Aaron Travers, leapt to his defence and, in the process of wrestling Alveranga’s gun from him and saving Totton’s life, was himself shot twice.
Alveranga and Austin were both disarmed and shot with Austin’s own gun. They managed to make it outside before they collapsed and died.
Constance Howarth and Ian George McLeod were both, subsequently, found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.
Bobby Spiers is still being sought and is believed to be in Benidorm.
At the time that the top man in the Doddington Crew was employing two other Doddington crew members to assassinate David Totton, Ian McLeod was also the top man in a legitimate business. He was the CEO of IMAC Security in Radcliffe. Both Austin and Alvaranga, who at age 20, had already spent four years in jail, were IMAC security guards employed by McLeod.
At the time of the botched hit, Connie Howarth was also employed as a consultant by another security firm, PMS Security.
Howarth, McLeod, Austin and Alvaranga are pictured below:

The police are still looking for Bobby Spiers:

On 1 April 2006, 42-year-old father-of-three, Russell Aylett was murdered in a YMCA hostel in Romford, Essex.
Russell was badly beaten up in his own room by several men one of whom thought, wrongly, that he was gay. He was left with brain injuries, a shattered nose, and nine broken ribs. However, this wasn’t enough for Richard Truszczynski. After watching the attack without intervening, the heavily-built black man decided that Russell should be finished off and calmly strangled him to death. He then hid his body in a wardrobe.
In March 2007, Truszczynski was convicted of Russell’s murder and jailed for life.
The Romford YMCA won an award in the "Overcoming Business Adversity" category at the 2006 Essex Business Awards.
Richard is pictured below with his daughter, Cerys. Truszczynski is pictured alongside.

In April 2006, Ibrahim Musone and Bisharat Chaudry were sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of fellow prisoner, Wayne Martin Reid. (P. 385)
Wayne was not white, as might have been inferred. He was black.
On 6 May 2006, 37-year-old cyclist, Ian Ward, was knocked down and killed in Long Ditton, Surrey.
Learner driver, Denise Williams-Yelbert, would, subsequently, plead not guilty at Staines Magistrates' Court on Monday to driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance and driving on a provisional licence without supervision.
At a prior inquest into Ian’s death, the coroner was forced to record an open verdict because Williams-Yelbert refused to answer any questions. Crash scene investigators had alleged that she was speeding on a straight road on a clear day and inside the cycle lane inside which Ian was travelling.
In fact, Williams-Yelbert maintained her silence all the way through the various hearings and procedures. She even refused to answer any questions in the police interview although she was happy to sign a statement claiming that Ian, a very experienced cyclist, was "swerving from left to right".
After the hearing, Ian's father, Stanley, said:
"It's a disgrace that she has only been charged with driving without due care. And by staying silent, what is she putting us through?"
At the inquest it was alleged that Williams-Yelbert’s Volkswagen Golf was speeding in the 50mph zone.
It was also pointed out that Ian was hit even though the day was clear and bright and the road was straight for 350 metres before the point of impact. Skid marks on the road showed that Williams-Yelbert’s car collided with Ian’s bicycle 1.6 metres inside the coloured cycle lane.
Ian and Williams-Yelbert are pictured below:

On 3 June 2006, 19-year-old Jolene Colpus was murdered in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
Jolene had foolishly involved herself the supply of crack cocaine and had asked local drugs runners for money on the evening she died. This request had angered the runners’ boss, 22-year-old black drugs baron, Kieron aka P or Preston Simei, and he went to "sort it out".
In his opening address to the court, the prosecutor said:
"Jolene opens the main door to the flats. Two figures in the doorway appear close together. There is no time at all for any meaningful conversation. |
